Hei, Nark, I'm not jewish but I found it so hilarious when I heard it on the radio from Roger Hanin (to JWNers, french actor of North african jewish extraction).
Thanks Rodbar for this one.

Crafts
by mrsjones5 inwhen i was growing up in the borg i didn't see much in the way of craftmaking except for a few who knew how to sew.
no one that i knew at any of the halls i went to knitted or crocheted or tatted or did much in the needle arts other than sewing.
i was introduced to knitting by a "worldly" woman who was my brother's nurse.. maybe this is just something i noticed and is limited to my borg experience.. josie.

My wife's Mom had 4 daughters in the same age bracket and she wanted them to be busy all the time so as not to remain day dreaming. As a result she is now very skilled at knitting, crocheting mats, etc. On top of it she's such a generous person that she would readily give them as presents to the many sisters in the congregation (incredible how many friends she has in these instances...) who marvel at her work, if I weren't watching and telling her that she must keep some for herself (made a beautiful crocheted blouse cover, lately) and her children.

don't know if it has been mentioned already on the board,.
scientists are thinking of naming that new disquieting sort of cloud asperatus.. a foresight of armageddon.

Nice painting, CoCo, and it could readily illustrate God's wrath, indeed (or creation ?). But, unless they totally fool us, I understand that the Cloud Appreciation Society publishes real Asperatus clouds, aw inspiring (JW parlance rising back to the surface) as they are.

My children are quite crafty, they always make sure that what they will offer Dad will be of use for the whole family: digital camera, etc. That's Dad's fate, nothing of his own.

To anyone looking for a soul mate, here is a golden opportunity. I couldn't reciprocate due to my matrimonial situation but I feel there could be here a real bargain to be seized. I assumed it was a She, it seems to work as well as a He, for ladies I mean.

London cops told to stop & search more whites to keep racial balance in stats
by aligot ripounsous in.
london policemen have to report statistics showing a smaller proportion of black and muslimlike people being stopped and searched in the street, which leads them to do so randomly with white people, just to keep racial balance and out of political correctness, regardless of whether they seem to correspond to the targets of the antiterrorism policy.. now, looking at it under another angle, one could rightly argue that producing such racially balanced statistics, even if they are rigged and don't lure anyone, will contribute to a more peaceful social atmosphere and, perhaps, defuse tensions and resentment that lead to some forms of criminal activities and maybe to terrorism, who knows.

Police carrying out stop and search 'just for statistics'
Police are making unjustified searches of members of the public to provide "racial balance" to stop and search statistics, Lord Carlile, the independent reviewer of anti-terrorism laws, has said.
Published: 1:57PM BST 17 Jun 2009
Lord Carlile, the independent reviewer of anti-terrorism laws, said he knew of cases where suspects were stopped by officers even though there was no evidence against them.
He warned that police were wasting money by carrying out "self-evidently unmerited searches" which were an invasion of civil liberties and "almost certainly unlawful".
Lord Carlile, a Liberal Democrat peer and QC, condemned the wrongful use of Section 44 of the Terrorism Act 2000 in his annual report on anti-terror laws.
He said police were carrying out the searches on people they had no basis for suspecting so they could avoid accusations of prejudice.
As the terror threat against Britain is largely from Islamist extremists, the figures show disproportionately more Muslims and therefore more Asians being searched than whites.
But the peer said police should stop trying to balance the figures, and it may be that an "ethnic imbalance" is a "proportional consequence" of policing.
